In what I consider a great move, Adobe has released the PDF specification for acceptance as a ISO standard:

I really think they needed to do this to help circumvent Microsoft's push of their XML Paper Specification (which is also being submitted to for standards approval).
This is definitely a step in the right direction. Good work Adobe!
