With IE7 in full tilt beta, it makes sense to start testing out this beast to ensure compatibility going forward. Well, it seems that Microsoft's IE7 team really doesn't want you to keep IE6 around anymore since a recent update has removed the standalone feature in IE7. This royally stinks as I have no intentions of just adopting a beta browser and dumping the most pervasive version of IE on the market. I also don't have 5 machines just lying around to install beta software nor do I have VMWare.
So, I did so Googling and found a way to make IE7 run standalone. You can check it out at Jon Galloways' Blog.
I'm hoping this will work well. I'll post my results soon.
