Ajaxian has a great rollup of Adobe Senior Vice President Kevin Lynch's keynote at the Ajax Experience.
Some important facts that really stood out were:
- Adobe's push to standardize the crossdomain.xml file, standard in Flash, at the browser and client level making it easier to ensure security between domains
- The 83% market penetration of Flash Player 9
- The announcement of a new free, open-source Flash/Ajax Video kit that allows really simple syntax for playing movies
I really am starting to feel like Adobe is going in the right direction with their tools and I'm happy to see them trying to address some hardcore issues which affecting RIA development based on traditional web technologies (ie: not Flash/Flex).
