As many know, I've really become an advocate for the jQuery Ajax/Javascript libray. I truly believe that it is one of the best libraries for building rich features into your web applications and I appreciate the fact that the project has such a welcoming community of top-notch developers. As such, I've been professing the benefits of jQuery to whomever I can and getting as many people hooked on jQuery as possible.
Well, John Resig, the creator of the jQuery project has asked me to take on a dedicated role in continuing to promote this great project. I am truly flattered and ecstatic to be offered this opportunity to expand a great open source project and have accepted his offer to help the project. My role will be to help expand the visibility of the jQuery project through various promotional initiatives and branding efforts. I'll also be working with the community to get a feel for what's needed and communicate that back to the development team. In a sense, I will be a community liason.
I'm VERY excited about the opportunity and want to thank John for extending it to me. I'll have the chance to work with some VERY bright people and look forward to enhancing the visibility of the project.
