The end of an era. Scott McNealy, the man who was Mr. Sun Microsystems, has stepped down as CEO.
This is big news and makes me feel a bit melancholy as he was such a driving force in developing awesome high powered low cost servers; before, during, and after the Internet revolution. I loved watching him publicly bash the Redmond boys and while I didn't agree with a lot of what he said in terms of Microsoft, it was just fun to see someone stand up to them; and damn he was good at that!
I'm sure he'll be just fine though as his bank account must be busting but its always good to have checks and balances in this industry. Lets see if Jonathan Schwartz can revitalize Sun.
